Guerrilla-style Filmmaking

3 weekends

Often referred to as the Introduction Course, our Guerrilla Course teaches you the basics.  Students are always amazed at how much one can learn in such a short space of time.  Each group makes a short film as part of this course.  The first four lessons are theory classes, the fifth lesson comprises an assignment in finding actors and locations for the film shoot, and the last class is where all the theory gets put into practice with the shooting of the group short film.

Scriptwriting

12 weeks (held one evening a week for three hours)

Our Scriptwriting course will teach you the art of story-telling and how to put your ideas and concepts into a professional script format.

Producing

2 full days/ 4 evenings

This short course focuses on the art of producing.  We teach you how to formulate budgets, how to pull the logistical elements together for a shoot and how to manage your crew.

Directing

2 full days/ 4 evenings

This short course focuses entirely on Directing.  We teach you how to break your script down, how to formulate storyboards and shot lists and how to get the best possible performance from your actors.

Film-acting

2 full days

This dynamic course will help you to improve your film-acting skills and help you to understand film technicalities such as continuity, camera angles, etc.  You will also learn how to work closely with your director, cameraman and other key film crew.

Cinematography for Beginners

3 Full days

A fantastic introduction to cinematography using state-of-the-art gear, this course will teach you how to operate a digital camera, how to light your set and how to record sound.

Guerrilla Editing

14 weeks (held one evening per week for three hours)

This course does not teach you HOW TO edit (most people can teach themselves) but rather HOW TO tell a story with your editing.  In other words, we teach you the art of story-telling through the power of editing.
